Julie ROBARD-GENDRE - Mezzo-soprano
Julie Robard-Gendre studied singing at the Conservatoire in Nantes before graduating from the Paris National Conservatoire in Paris.
She rapidly started singing some major roles, such as Le Prince Charmant (Cendrillon) in Massy, Orphée (Orphée et Eurydice) in Angers and Nantes, Ramiro (La Finta Giardiniera) at the Aix-en-Provence Festival, and the title-roles of Carmen in Reims and Rennes and La Périchole in Metz.
In the recent past seasons, she sang at the Paris Opera in Die Zauberflöte and Les Huguenots, she sang Ghita (Der Zwerg) in Caen, Lille and Rennes, Orphée (Orphée et Eurydice) in Avignon and Liege, Fenena (Nabucco) in Nice and Toulon, La Belle-Hélène in Lausanne, Dulcinée (Don Quichotte) in Tours, Nefertiti (Akhnaten) in Nice.
Recent role-debuts include Sesto (La Clemenza di Tito) in Angers and Nantes, Der Komponist (Ariane à Naxos) in Limoges, Marguerite (La Damnation de Faust by Berlioz) in Erfurt, Hérodias from Salomé in Metz, Meg Page from Falstaff in Luxembourg and in Caen. She took over the role of Carmen in Liege and in the adaptation La Tragédie de Carmen at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and on tour.
She also recorded the role of Perséphone (Ariane de Massenet) with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks for the label Palazzetto Bru Zane.
During season 2024-2025, she makes her débuts as Venus from Tannhäuser in Seoul and as Santuzza from Cavalleria Rusticana in Saint-Etienne, then takes over the title-role of La Belle Hélène in Tours. She takes part in the creation of Ophélie hors/champs after Hamlet in Avignon and Paris.
