Benoît RAMEAU   -   Ténor

After graduating from the Paris Conservatoire, French tenor Benoît Rameau perfected his training within the Studio of Opera Fuoco, at the Musical Academy of Philippe Jaroussky and among the Arts Florissants by William Christie. He is an award-winner in the mélodie category both at the Gordes and Marmande competitions.

His repertoire includes such roles as Ulisse from Il ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria, Aeneas from Dido and Aeneas, Solon/Halimacus from Croesus by Kaiser, Bastien from Bastien und Bastienne, Basilio/Curzio from Le Nozze di FigaroMonostatos from Die Zauberflöte, Pelléas from Pelléas et Mélisande, Der Sänger from Von Heute aug Morgen by Schönberg and more recently his debuts as Gonzalve from L'Heure Espagnole at the Opéra-Comique in Paris, at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and in Saint-Jean de Luz.    

He takes part in several world premieres:  Narcisse by Joséphine Stephenson, Zylan ne chantera plus by Diana Soh, Les Ailes du Désir by Othman Louati. 

 

A versatile artist, he also regularly performs in musicals : Kiss me Kate by Cole Porter and Lady in the Dark by Kurt Weill.

 

Concert-wise, he sang the Tenth Symphony by Henry/Beethoven at the Paris Philharmonie together with the Philharmonic and the the Radio France Choir, Pulcinella by Stravinsky with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe conducted by Matthias Pintscher and Mozart Requiem with the Orchestra and Choir of the Toulon Opera conducted by Marzena Diakun.

During season 2024-2025, he sings the role of Jean Valjean in the new production of Les Misérables at the Théâtre du Châtelet, he sings Monostatos from Die Zauberflöte in the operas in Angers, Nantes and Rennes, as well as several concerts and recitals.
